DEFINITION

UL Listed

UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories, which is global safety certification company. UL Listed means that the concerned product has been certified by UL to be safe.

 

 

Ultraviolet (UV)

Ultraviolet (UV) light is used in nail art to cure and dry gel nail polishes.

 

 

Underwear/Undies Nail Polish

Underwear/Undies nail polish are polishes that are applied before or under the real color to enhance the color.

 

 

Undies

Unguis

Stands for "a nail".

 

 

Unguis incarnatus

Stands for "Ingrown toenail".

 

 

Untrieds

Nail polishes that have not been used ever after purchase.

UV Light

Ultraviolet (UV) Light is used in nail art to cure and dry gel nail polishes.

 

 

UV Topcoat

As usual UV Top Coat is applied over nail polish but it requires UV light to dry it.

 

 

UV-A And UV-B Rays

UV stands for Ultraviolet. Ultraviolet radiation are divided into UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C. UV-A light are light rays with wavelength between 315–400 and are least harmful. UV-B light are light rays with wavelength between 280–315 and it causes sunburns with prolonged exposure.

 

 

UV-CFL Lamp

UV-CFL lamps are used to dry and harden nail gels.

 

 

UV-Cured Acrylics

Acrylics that require UV light to dry.

 

 

Vampy

Nail polish colors that are dark.

 

 

Vapor

Any substance in its gaseous phase.

Vapor density refers to the weight of a gas as compared to air. It helps in selecting nail products that are safe for clients and nail technicians.

 

 

Vapor Pressure

The pressure of the vapor in a closed container. It helps in selecting nail products that are safe for clients and nail technicians.

 

 

Ventilate

Stands for Very Hard To Find

Substances that can kill viruses.

 

 

Viscosity

Any fluid's resistance to flow is known as its viscosity.

 

 

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant and protects body cells from damage.

Visible Nail Line.

Volatile means how quickly a substance can change its state like evaporation of a liquid.

 

 

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)

Organic chemicals that have high vapor pressure and can easily evaporate.

Volcanic Clay

Clay formed by the ageing of volcanic ashes and water.
